Football - i love it!

I haven't updated for a while and to be honest I only really wanna update about football right now :). This season I'm playing for Kings Sports A. We're a new team which is setup mostly of people from City Church and a few others. We've entered the Churches Football League and we're young and very passionate. Our first friendly was against Kings Sports Reserves (a team much higher than us - the A team is basically the Reserves Reserves) and we lost 5-1. We didnt play too badly considering that they are much higher in leagues than us and it was our first game together and for most of the guys it was their first taste of 11-a-side football. I captained the side and was delighted to be given that honour. For the rest of the season I am vice-captain. Our next friendly was against St Marys Welwyn, a strong team from the East Herts version of our league. We smashed them 7-0. Everything clicked and we did really well. Plenty of work to do though. So yesterday we played our first league game against St Georges and we won 3-2! It was a superb effort and we came back from 1-0 down to battle to a win. Then in the afternoon I watched Ware against bigboys Canvey Island and we beat them 2-1 thanks to a last gasp winner from Daryl Hanson! absolutley superb. their cocky keeper and fans had nothing to say! superb!

Summer Days, Drifted Away!

Well what a busy summer! What a quality summer! So when I last left you guys I was jobless and slightly fatter. I applied for a job with Harpenden High Street Methodist Church and I got it! Its got a very good package and comes with a free flat which I now live in! Its fantastic to get my own living space which I dont have to share with... a bunch of knobs to be blunt! I started there last week and so I was free over the summer to do what I love doing... Soul Survivor Sports Team. Week A was good but there wasn't much banter. The football tournament was good and we had the cage there which was amazing. Week B had a much better crew and we loads of banter and worked well as a team. This year I stayed on for all 3 weeks and got accepted to do sports team for the 3rd one too. I was the only person on team who'd had ANY experience so I helped Gaffer in the running of it. It was a smaller team for a smaller event, but very worthwhile! We saw people progress in their faith and some even come to faith over the week. thats what makes it worthwhile. Im an uncle again now! Richard and Sue (no relation to Sooty) had a little boy called Benjamin Reese David Miller born on the 5th September 2006 and weighing in at 7lbs. All are well! I weighed in at 14st bang on just before SS and I havent checked again since! so thats nice too. best be off. ta ta!
