Drowning in Guanabana!

Well well well!! Here's a little Guanabana update for y'all! I am pleased to announce that the off-license next dear to me in Luton is still stocking the thirst quenching drink. The staff there know who I am and know that I am in live with the drink. At one point I went in, put my 59p on the desk and marched to the chiller to get my can of Guanabana. They know I love it! Woo yeah! On my way from town today (details later) I rewarded myself by buying Fish & Chips (well - sausage) from my local and my jaw hit the floor (check the rhyme - init!) because shining from the chiller again was the green can of beauty! Awesome! That means that to the west of me up the hill they sell it and to the east of me, up the other hill, they sell Guanabana too! So in theory if those cans self self combusted at the same time that I may drown in Guanabana! What a way to go. So here's something even better (I know what your thinking - and it definately CAN get better!)... I was on my way to work in Ware and was travelling through London. I had to walk from Seven Sisters Tube to Seven Sisters Main Line. I was thirsty and hungry, so I stopped to fulfill both. I saw the Guanabana in the fridge almost cried! totally awesome! BUT i also saw for the first time ever the juice that Rubicon make of Guanabana! Naturally I bought it straight away and saved it until the barbeque in St Albans in the afternoon. I shared it with fellow Guanabana lovers who also were virgins to the juice. Overall impression was that it was good but lacked a certain something... bubbles perhaps?! So it was good, and I shall purchase it again! Anyone else seen this version around? The packaging is slighlty different to the one shown above though. Oh and another thing! Why can't I buy this drink in Hertford? Can or juice? Not happy about that one. Rubicon seems to be only available in multi-cultural areas of the UK, but not for long I imagine!

So this afternoon I waddled down to town to do the essentials. I hate shopping with a passion but forced myself due to the disgraceful state of my trainers. I actually bought exactly the same pair of trainers as I have now. They are very comfortable and cheap and simple. All qualities that I look for. Anyone else bought exaclty the same pair? I did briefly when my football boots were sponsored but apart from that I've always changed them slightly. To kill two birds with one stone I also took my Zen Creative back as well. The FM Radio function hadn't worked since I took it back last time and also I was running out of memory. So I decided to upgrade. I know of one other person who has the 5Gb and one other who has the 40Gb version, both of whom are on my Uni course. So I was an MP3 buddy of Becks, but now... I am an MP3 buddy of Tim. But hey! that's what best friends do ;) hehe.

My road got flooded (with rain water - not Guanabana!) the other day. There is silt lying on my front porch. Not happy. Time to move.

Final thought... I was asked by someone t'other day "who reads your blog?" I was surprised when this person asked, because I didn't think he read it himself! So that makes me wonder... who actually does read this?

Aims for Next Year

That title ^ may sound slightly silly. I disagree. As far as Im concerned I've finished a year of University, so that is the end of a year, and a new one starts today. I have some clear aims which I will write up here, but this list may well get added to, or maybe you want to challenge me on some of it? Anyway! Here goes...

1. To have visited 100 football grounds (that means 18 more this season)
2. To have visited Highbury before it gets demolished.
3. To enjoy London above ground far more.
4. To be more adventurous in eating out.
5. To have read through the whole Bible in one year.
6. To have increased on all 3 of my PB's for the Tube Challenges.
7. To have completed Year 2 of Uni AND be raring to go for Yr3.
8. To have lost come weight/be fitter
9. To be in the right church.

A few of those are self explanatory i guess. I have found myself choosing the same places to eat out in London and that is so not the point! There's so much of London to sample so why do just a little bit and leave it at that? I started reading the "Bible in a year" back in Sep 04. But stopped at about Dec because I was too busy. TOO BUSY??? I can never be too busy to have time with God and read the Bible *slaps wrist*. Tube Challenge is my hobby. I have a time of 58mins14secs for the All Lines Challenge (just 83 seconds behind the record!). For the Zone 1 Challenge my record is 3h10m51s, a huge 25 minutes and 41 seconds behind the record, big chance to increase my PB there! I've only done Zone 1 once, so it's ok that I have a poo time. For the whole system, the main challenge, my PB is 19h42m48s, a whopping 1 hour, 7 minutes behind Geoff's record. Having said that though, my PB was a bad run because of missing a train by 5 seconds which increased our time by 30 mins. I can only improve (!). I've already explained the church one and those of you that have met me will understand the weight one!

Consider some aims for yourself, and have someone hold you to them! and by the way... challenge me on whether Im doing these or not! Good people!

School's Out For Summer!

Hello people! I've been made aware recently that I haven't blogged, which is nice, because it means some of you read this! A little update on the dart board... haven't bought one!

So I have finished a year of University! THAT is an acheivement. I finished my A Levels and vowed to never do education again. Funny how God makes things come back and bite you on the ass! It was such a struggle though to be honest. We had a group presentation which we did great in, I was very nervous about letting the others down but God had it in control. The end of the coursework was good as well but it took a LOT of me, far more than I realised. All this meant that I struggled hugelu writing the essay but churned it out to an average standard. I was at the lowest point I've been at for a number of years and felt so so so tired! I still do I guess, but a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. My Uni group are awesome and I praise God for them all. They supported me so much through it all, especially two lads from Hertford and St Albans (you know who you are!). Thank you.

Life is good at the moment. I have more time to be 'me'. That means I need to work who I am first, but Im happy with doing that. I can see now that I have changed a lot since starting the course and that different aspects of my personality are being shown, which I like, and hopefully others do as well. My life is centred around God for one of the first times in my life and I love it. I'm being moulded into what God wants me to be and I am more than happy for that to happen.

So how much should I blog over the summer and what are my plans? I know you all care about this deeply. So here we go...

7th July - 6th Aug ..... United States (working in the Office at YL Camp)
10th Aug - 13th Aug ..... Soul Survivor A (working on Sports Team)
14th Aug - 18th Aug ..... Young Life Camp (in Kidderminster)
20th Aug - 24th Aug ..... Soul Survivor B (Sports Team again!)

and then... time off! woo yeah! I will blog when Im in the States most days hopefully. And then every so often in August. Peace out friends.
